Blue Bossa

  • Hi Guys,

Just spent the morning playing around getting my old Line6 tone port working again and thought I'd share the end result here.

As mentioned in another thread I've been taking some lessons recently and we've been focusing on the jazzier side of things and one of the tunes we've looked at is Blue Bossa.

Everything other than the drums are my own handy work.  There are a few fluffed notes here and there but I'm generally quite happy with it even if I did start running out of ideas towards the end.

All comments grateful received on any aspect of the recording  :)

  • Cheers for the comments.

I'm going to try and keep trotting these out on a semi-regular basis.  We've been looking at about a tune a week so far and it takes me a few weeks to really get to grips with the ideas so I've a bit of a back log at the moment.

Miles Davis' Tune Up should be next.  I may even go to the trouble of learning the melody!

  • I think the melody is the first thing you should learn. That's all the recording is missing -and it's such a great tune too.  :thumb:

  • Agreed.  It's definitely how I'm going to approach these from now on.  Originally Blue Bossa was just an exercise to get me playing over the C minor to Db major change.  I've love the melody though and have done since I first heard Gary Moore playing it on Parisian Walkways  :whistling:

  • Just a minor update for the addition of the melody.

  • Excellent Mate, which guitar are you using for this? :thumb: :thumb:

  • All the parts on the first recording were done using my bitsa strat.  The melody was recorded today using my Epi Wildkat which (unknown to me at the time) was purchased off fellow TGGer Buzzwagon (aka Jerry).
