Hi there, I've started a new build, and I reckon it's going to be a good one. It's going to be a thinline semi hollow.
Both body and neck will be mahogany (with a nice bookmatched mahogany top to finish it off), while the fretboard is a rather nice piece of ebony, with some lovely lighter streaks in there. Hardware will be your standard tune-o-matic bridge, might put Grover tuners on there. I'm going for humbuckers on this one, though I haven't yet decided which ones they are going to be, plenty of time for that though.
Originally I was planning a 12 string build but have decided to go with the standard 6 strings instead. While I was machining the wood I kinda fell in love with it and decided I wanted to play it as much as possible when it's done and if it were a 12 string I wouldn't pay it nearly as much I don't think.
Anyways, here's some pics of the progress so far. Can't really do much to the neck yet as I still need to order things like the truss rod, so for now I'll just focus on the body.
Pencil drawings are always hard to see in photo's.
Back is made up of 3 pieces of mahog.
Grain doesn't show up too well in the pic but I'm sure it'll pop once I get the finish on.
