If you decide to move the Session Maurits, bear me in mind as I'd then get Stuart to convert it with his wonderful new Blues Baby Mods.

I didn't mean for Maurits amp Rob.  I meant that dropping one of those blues baby chassis into a BJ cabinet is a project even I could manage!

If I can get an empty blues junior cab I'll have go. :)

I'd seen those little amps and seriously thought about it, maybe something to consider a little bit down the road.

Started putting the finish on the Weissenborn, might just post some pics when it's done (should be somewhere in the next few days). I've always thought the Tasmanian Blackwood would look good but a bit of shellac on there really made the grain and figure jump out, so happy with it  ;D

Haven't made an update in a while. Haven't done a whole lot to it but it is starting to come along quite nicely.
I'm very changeable when it comes to these sorts of things  :) Couldn't figure out how to make this body style look good with the Strat style 12 string bridge I have so just decided to abandon it and make it a regular six stringer instead. Made life a bit easier for myself.
So... where were we? Did some work to the neck, glued up all the pieces and sent it through the planer and thicknesser and glued on the headstock, came out rather spiffy if I do say so myself.

Next up was the trussrod.

After which the board (slotted) could go on and have a date with a router. Got it looking like this.

Body was being clamped up last time and you'll be happy to know it is no longer in clamps. In fact, I got the binding installed last weekend.

Tape removed, plenty of glue to clean up.

Got to carving the neck as well, got a nicely rounded baseball bat out of it, should fit my large hands like a glove.

Hmmmm, this headstock need a little something in the shape of an inlay I think.

And this is what it looks like now, getting close now.

Final spec sheet:
-2 P90's with black covers (hence the black binding)
-simple vol-tone-toggle switch setup
-Wilkinson compensated wrap-around bridge

Lets see part of a sentence from Maurits ..... " came out rather spiffy "   .... Now that has to be the biggest understatement EVER  :D

I would put it as stunning ,even at this stage , as ever its a bonus  on TGG when we get an update from Maurits on his build .

You should should do a design on the Headstock that shows "Maurits"  the guitar should show the creator .

We have two fantastic guitar builders on here ,the other being John Hess , and I for one love the updates of the builds , with a plus for attaching the photos for us see .

Thank you Maurits for showing us just what can be done so fare .

You and John should register your names for your builds to show proudly on the guitar  :)

If I was only allowed near sharp tools , Oh and soldering iron  :P ;D

Thanks so much JE, means a lot. Got a hold of some very thin rosewood which matches the board nicely for the headstock inlay. Next step is deciding what to put on there :)

Cheers.

Got some more work done on it this weekend. Neck is glued in and fretted. Bridge mounting holes have been drilled, still need to be made a wee bit bigger, didn't have the exact size drill. Plus I've routed the pickup cavities and back cavities, so most of the woodwork is now done.

Since this pic a lip has been routed to accept the flamed maple covers.

All in.

Some rudimentary fret filing, will be done properly after leveling etc.

Happy about how the channel came out, was a little worried that it would end up where the pickup mounting screws are supposed to go. Didn't really think it through when I routed it in there  :D

And with some hardware in place.

Next up is the inlay on the headstock I guess, still haven't quite decided what it'll be. Saw a great David Attenborough program on birds of paradise last week, one of them might be nice to have on there.
