Chords / Fretboard

  • Hi everyone,

    Quick newb question:

As a beginner, should I learn the C-A-G-E-D chords first, and then look in to learning where all the chords are located on the fretboard? Is there a 'recommended' way to start, or is it just a case of learning the above chords and then everything else naturally falls in to place?

    Cheers,

  • You cannot go wrong with doing that for starters Simon. The CAGED system works really well and it gives you a tremendous grounding that will stand you in really good stead. http://www.cagedguitarsystem.net

    And this helps clarify it <a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/LhrGeolItvw" target="_blank" class="new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/LhrGeolItvw</a>
