When a sound knocks you out!

  • You know how it is, every now and again, you'll hear a guitar sound, maybe, just a few notes even, that just blows you away? This happened to me about 8 months ago on an Anderton's youtube demo. It is the usual fare, Rob Chapman and Lee Anderton, love em, or loath them.

The guitar in question is the Gibson Collector's Choice Number 8, a.k.a. "The Beast" owned by Bernie Marsden.

Chappers is going through an Orange Rockerverb and Lee is using a Fender Hotrod Deluxe. Clean sounds come first, both are good, but to these aged ears, the Fender has it by a mile. Then comes the Dirt. Chappers completely fails to realise what this guitar "should" be doing and the wigging out is tedious in extreme, but then see what happens when Lee kicks in a TS with the Fender.

    Beautiful in my opinion  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/0UxveANlrYQ" target="_blank" class="new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/0UxveANlrYQ</a>

If you lend someone ?20 and never see that person again, it was probably well worth it.
