Amp going RRRRRR at low F power-Chord

  • I bought a second-hand guitar amplifier: Mustang III by Fender.

At clean effects and high volume it sounds ok. But low pitch at high volume with distortion make it go:

    BBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRR...

every time a low powerchord is played.

What's going on? What shoud be done/replaced/fixed?

    Tnx guys!!!

  • Only on a low F?

It sounds like something is resonating from that particular note. . Have you tried playing in G instead?  ;D

Hehe you're kidding right?  >:D I was playing this powerchords progression (for the sake of explanation...root note on 6th string, if you will):

    B5       A#5     G#5       F#5             <--"BBBRRR"

    G#5     A#5   B5    C#5

I couldn't really re-check that  :police: cuz, you know, you are playing in front of people and nobody non-music-educated wants to hear funny noises while in a party :D

    PS
Actually I'm 3rd owner. The guy who sold it to me warned this "i was told not to play too loud, so don't do it either". I didn't see it comming. D4MN!!

  • Update...

I lowered a bit the Bass/mid/treb Gains in the output signal of my pedal-Fx-processor and the BBBRRR was gone.

Was I pushing my Amp way too far?

Is there any course to master Equalization/Distor/flanger/reverb and stuff???

    Yeah, I guess so hehe.

I guess I'll keep exploring until I get the feel of it, It seems there's no formal course to master "pursut of sound"

Tnx guys. Great advice as always ;)
