  • My latest effort.   Acoustic finger picking and very slow.  Still someone might like it!

  • Very nice.

Is that the tune from the Berle and Galbo, Fingerstyle Guitar book? I really will have to dig that out and get a bit further through the book!
I like to spell peddant with two Ds. That always annoys them.

  • Thanks!

    Yes its originally from:

One of the first tunes I learnt to pick about 4 years ago.  Its relatively simple to play if you can do the alternate picking (pretty much all I can do).  Its in drop d tuning  and just goes D,G,D,A.

I think I have changed it a little of the years, but cannot find the original to listen to.  From my memory he plays it a lot quicker and cooler!

  • Cool. I have that book... unfortunately I also have the attention span of a housefly with regard to diligently following the many books I now own. I'll definitely dig it out though.

Personally I like the tempo you're using. It would be over far too soon if you play it fast  8)

My first proper finger picking track was Aura Lee (or Love Me Tender as the melody is better known). It's from a different fingerpicking book and was introduced with the comment that its a great track for beginners because, within reason, it sounds better the slower you play!
