Just popped in to say hello.
I've been dragged out of retirement and am back in the Middle East working again,
Must be mad, still the sunshine helps with the aches and pains. Still playing every day and the wife has just treated me to a new
D35 which was a nice surprise. Cant believe how clear and loud it is.
Regards to everyone.

Thank you very much

I didn't have any Fanta so I had a few Glenmorangie's on ice. Didn't quite have the same effect as mulled Fanta though.

As one of the older Generation who came to learn guitar at the age of 61 and to the forum as a beginner I felt intimidated by some of the replies to posts at certain times by members who are long gone now I hasten to add, so it put me in a position where I felt out of my depth and put me off somewhat of posting on a regular basis.

On the other hand I also gleaned an abundance of advice, encouragement and help especially from Rob whom I count as a friend and I am appreciative of his time and effort that he put into TGG.

I miss the other stuff apart from the music side of the forum, like Barrington, Matron, trying to work out who had the keys to the drinks cabinet and my first mulled Fanta.

I am now70 and in the lucky position of being able to string a song together while accompanying myself on Guitar and playing with three others on a regular basis. The Guitar Grounds helped me get there and continues to influence my thinking when it comes to playing.

Thank you

Hi Fingers I was a late starter to the joy of playing guitar just like you. It changed my life, totally, keep chugging away and enjoy the journey. I started off wanting to learn to play an electric and have a well worn Squire Strat that still gets played occasionally but I play Acoustic 99% of the time now.

I think every guitar player should have a half decent Acoustic hanging around the house within easy reach of their favourite chair.

Have fun

I tried all the electronic mobile/computer ones to begin with.

Bit the bullet in the end and bought a proper one, the type that usually sits on top of a piano.

Still using it. IMHO you will be better off getting a real one  ;D

Thank you very much for your good wishes chaps

I have had a very lazy day being spoiled and am just going to sit down and play a few bars of Dylan while I partake of a wee dram or two of single malt  ;D
