Hi guys ... Haven't checked in for a while.  A grandfather for the first time - 9 months ago.  That and other things ... job and such have filled my time up.  Spending less time on the forums - spending less on gear too.  I think the two are related.

But I will poke around here a bit tonight - nice to have been a member - during my life on the forums for about 10 years - quite a ride and a few laughs.

Amps / Re: Building another amp

Update: this has become my favorite amp although I love them alll ... Allen on the right.  I did struggle with the speakers.  Finally, ended up buying the RWB that Allen recommends.  It's pretty good by itself ... But paired with the WGS G12A in the bottom (extension cab) it's perfect.  Also good with the G12C but it' a bit too efficient ... the alnico is about 3db less efficient and adds just the right amount of what's nice about these WGS speakers.  All WGS pairing or individual is just too harsh.  The "rounder" RWB takes the edge off.

I still like the old EVM12L in the tweed. Actually, it sounds good with the Allen but can't fit in the combo.  So the WGS G12C is in a box for now.

This is very sad news to me.  Rob ... I have known you for many years.  I too find this hard to read.  While I don't come to forums as often ... I don't think this place would be the same without you.  Actually ... I'm sure of it.  You still have the knowledge to be shared.  So, I am glad you are planning to stay active.  Best wishes old friend.

Nice guitar Rob ... I love my G&L Legacy ... and those controls are awesome.  I much prefer both to the Fender Strat that I had.  Just take a little time to get used to but it is great in the end.

Playing my old 1974 Classical ... it's 14 years older than he is ... I gave it to him a few years ago.

Hope you enjoy the sounds :)

Yeah, I think it's pretty cool.  I got to play a few tunes in a small show about two weeks ago ... played 4 numbers.  I was unexpectedly very nervous ... I guess I didn't want to mess up their performance.  Never worried as much about messing up my own.  :)

I remember moving the needle by hand on the old vinyl LPs.  Now that was a time ... Anybody else remember that far back?
